Sweet Potato Cupcake from Marmalade Pantry
Well, if you didn't, you didn't miss much.
It looks much better than it tastes. I don't like marshmallows, and the whole top part was melted marshmallow. I dislike the foamy texture and the sweetness. I thought the cross section looked very pretty, especially the purple potato layer, but that layer tasted weirdly sour. The base was also too dry and crumbly.
I suppose they're never going to bring back their awesome pandan and coconut cupcake :'(
And they've raised their prices again! Sadness. The sticky date pudding still tastes as good. Super love it and the Kapiti ice cream it comes with.

Marmalade Pantry - Ladies Night
Went to the Marmalde Pantry cos my sister wanted to eat sticky date pudding. Sadly, her first choice, Brussel Sprouts, didn't have sticky date pudding on the menu anymore. So we ended up at Marmalade Pantry. I've realized I haven't gone to Marmalade Pantry for eons - the last time I vistied MP was in Holland V, but it has since closed down (probably due to the insane rent!).
We were pleasantly suprised to find that Marmalade Pantry has Ladie's Night(s) (from Monday to Saturday) promotion - ladies get 20% off total food bill and even better - cocktails and house pours are only $6.
Lychee Bellini - usually $18, now $6. I'm definitely coming back later this week (and not driving)!
Sweet red pepper and Tomato Soup ($10++), my favourite soup from Marmalde Pantry. I like the bread that comes with it cos there's a delicious wad of cheese inside. Plus, the bread always comes toasted and warm.
Sticky date toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream ($10)
If you do know a place which serves better sticky date pudding, please share the love:D
Basil Crepes with Caramelized Bananas ($12)
Great place for lunch/dinner though it's pretty pricey, the food standard is consistent, service is pretty efficient and the food is delicious. I should really rest my legs here more oftenMonday, May 7, 2007
Marmalade Pantry
Which is probably the only store in Palais Renissance that we can afford.
Tried the Butternut Pumpkin and Sweet Potato soup.
Next was the entree which was Grilled Pesto Chicken with Butternut pumpkin in Wholemeal wrap.
It's served with vegetable chips and rocket salad.
The grilled chicken is extremely tender and well marinated, and the butternut pumpkin is sweet and frim, but not soggy. It comes with a cream sauce.
Next, we had 2 scoops of ice cream ($7). Honey and Date, and vanilla.
Comes in a super huge cup!
The Honey and Date was especially memorable. The dates were very sweet but not overwhelming, but overall, the ice cream was of an average sweetness (don't need to worry too much about getting diabetes :P). The honey left a pleasant aftertaste. This is my brother who is attacking his ice cream. He claims that no one can take photos of the Queen while she's eating (is tt true??) so i'm not allowed to take picture of him eating either (don't really see the link here... do you?)
This is the Lemon Tart - it's the best Lemon tart that I've tasted before (but I haven't tasted many lemon tarts) I think this wil be on my favourite dessert list from now on! It's soft, not soggy, not those gelatinous kind (which I don't like). It's served with traffic light colours - red yellow and blue! and has a little ring of strawberries and raspberry sauce around it :D
It's dying to be eaten
