The plum gave the pork belly a pinking hue, and I think this dish is really interesting, though I won't order it because I don't like the fats from the pork belly.
Chirashi Don ($18)
Julie ordered this - so for a more concise review of this, go to her blog :D
The Sumiyaki Moriawase Teishoku ($18++) is great for meat lovers- it comes with a variety of grilled meats, including beef, unagi (eel), chicken meat balls, asparagus wrapped in pork and grilled mushrooms.
The rice served together with the mixed grilled rice set is topped with minced chicken and sweet marinated mushrooms.
The miso soup is served with a generous amount of mushrooms, and the soup isn't too salty.
Dessert was lime sorbet, which I didn't like because it was too sour (and bitter!). However, the texture was really smooth and my other citrus loving friends enjoyed the sweet end to the meal.

Satsuma is a quiet little restaurant tucked into the Gallery Hotel. It's a pity that it's in such a inaccessable location, because the food here's really good. We were the only diners in the restaurant for lunch - fortunately because we made so much noise - definitely would have pissed off the other diners. Best of all, the service, ambience and decor is really nice.

My ala carte order of kaki no omuretsu wasn't omu rice. It's just egg omelette with oysters and lots of mushrooms inside!
