Finally got my hands on the Caramel Roll ($18) last week (just didn't have time to blog about it). After trying the vanilla and the matcha roll (both of which are unsatisfactory substitutes for the caramel) cos I was too impatient to wait.The caramel has a nice buttery taste, but I really wish there was more of it. It's only on the outside of the roll. There's also more caramel in the middle of the swiss roll, which has a slight burnt taste.
I didn't think it was super fantastic when I was eating it, but now, looking at the picture and typing this post, I feel like buying another roll! :/ For those ppl who haven't tried it, just go for the caramel. It's really worth paying $3 more for the caramel roll - it tastes much better than the vanilla roll. I didn't quite like the matcha roll cos I found the cake base too dense.
Perpetually sold out! Go really really early to get the caramel roll.

We've yet to try out the caramel roll but we tred out the caramel sand before but wasn't impressed with it. It tasted like ordinary sponge cake with the whipped cream and caramel.
Hello SistaFood, I like the roll much more than the sand cake (which is all cream and very little cake). I do think the sponge is slightly lighter and eggier than the normal swiss rolls we get here, but since I'm not a huge fan of whipped cream, I doubt I'll be eating anymore sand cakes ;)
Hahah me and my friends were commenting that normal swiss rolls were delicious, quite light and fluffy and the Gal and guy making them were quite a feast for the eyes too...whaahwhaha
