Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream

They have this new flavour - Caramel and Sea Salt Ice Cream
Normal caramel is usually too sweet

And so to make it not so sweet, there's sea salt

And it's very yummy and unique!

Apparently Sea Salt is the bestest salt in the whole world - and it's 'cos we came from the sea??' but i quite sure that any salt is bad cos of HYPERTENSION!

And of course, I had my usualy favourite Green Tea Ice Cream

Azabu Sabo Desserts 2

I think this dessert is called Zen - It's red beans, mochi (glutinous rice balls) and Green Tea Ice Cream from Hokkaido.
Btw, my fave green tea ice cream is this one :D

Soft ice cream (super alot of ice cream) with a sweet potato cake below. The sweet potato is steaming hot and the ice cream has green tea sauce. It's really delicious - my 2nd fave dessert from azabu sabo.
However, since they're so generous with the ice cream, it tends to form a minature leaning tower of pisa cos the base is so hot and it keeps melting - so must eat it quickly quickly!

Mango Milkshake - it's very very very creamy and very very very thick and it's really too much to drink by yourself! but it's fun to attempt it... The mango taste is really strong - and they use ice cream for the milkshake base.
Azabu sabo was having a seasonal promotion and there was this new dessert called "Hokkaido Balls" It's these fried cake/ balls with ice cream and red bean, with a lovely buttery sauce base. I think it's like home-made butterscotch?. It comes with vanilla ice cream (from Hokkaido of course) and the vanilla ice cream is really full of vanilla beans :D

Mochi and red beanNice vanilla beans :D it's one of the more expensive herb/ingredient or whatever in the world . Yum yum. and you can see a little bit of the butterscotch sauce at the bottom.

Azabu Sabo

This is one of my favourite japanese dessert places. It serves lots and lots of ice cream, parfaits, and japanese desserts which i really really like to eat!

The speciality is the cold seafood ramen with wasabi, which costs about $14 (i think they may have changed the prices) but i find it a bit too salty and i usually drain the sauce. It comes with wasabi mayonnaise, slivered almonds, lots of prawns, scallops, squid and healthy tomatoes and lettuce. The noodles are very tangy and it's the main reason why i like the dish.

They have bento sets, including the Oyako Don (Chicken with egg rice). There is also tempura don and all the usual dons that you find in most japanese restaurants.

The main attraction for me is of course, the desserts :) They have imported icecream from Hokkaido, the land of delicious japanese foods like uni (sea urchin), kani (hokkaido crab), otoro (tuna belly), abalone etc etc etc. The milk from hokkaido is really delicious, and so is the youghurt and strawberries mmmmm. Since i can't go to Hokkaido, the next closest i can get to it is eating the wonderful ice creams they import.

The green tea ice cream is really solid, and you can get it for take-away for about $3 a scoop (i think) They also have green tea and red bean icecream, strawberry, chocolate, and all the usual flavours.

If you're feeling indulgent, the desserts there are fantastic :D I can never go past marina square without grabbing a cone of green tea ice cream ( i believe that ice cream is best eaten from a cone and never a cup if you can help it).

They also have the sit-down kind of desserts - the kind that you can never take away including my number 1 favourite fruit parfait (i have no idea what the actual name is on the menu, i just go straight for it and point to the picture)

The cup itself is an optical illusion, making you think that you are eating more than you really are, not that i am complainig. One scoop of green tea icecream, a swirl of soft serve vanilla icecream topped with fruits (to negate some of the calories, and to make it a 'healthier' dessert). There is one piece of preserved apricot, melon, watermelon and the preserved cherry. One pink and one green mochi pieces with icing on the top. The base is filled with japanese jelly (it's supposed to be a very healthy zero calorie thing but i don't know the name) and red beans. Green tea is poured into the bottom of the glass, and when the vanilla soft serve icecream melts, it will transform the bitter green tea into a delicious milkshake.

I like to scoop out the precious green tea ice cream before it starts melting - i don't like eating melted ice cream, and i would ignore the vanilla soft serve icecream till i'm done with th green tea ice cream.

Now i shall introduce to you my second favourite dessert, and Jane's number 1 favourite dessert. See how many times she changes clothes in the following pictures - and that's only when we remember to shoot. This is the Mango Milk Dessert. People who frequent the Kopitiam in NUH will know this dessert as the humble Mango Milk Ice. The Mango Milk Dessert from Azabu Sabo is filled with lots and lots of milk, with finely shaved ice and topped with lots and lots of mango, with a swirl of soft serve icecream on top. Desserts make everyone happy!Oh no, while food whoring, notice how the ice cream perched on the mountain of ice has started melting!
Disaster as the ice cream has fallen off! Note that eating icecream ontop of mountains of ice requires great skill!

See the mess Jane has made! But where did the remaining blog of ice cream go?

I wonder...

The next dessert is green tea syrup drizzled over a great heap of soft serve ice cream. And a foundation of piping hot sweet potato cake. No wonder why there is now a minature leaning tower of ice cream

Traditional red bean paste with mochi, and a not so traditional green tea ice cream. I still prefer my green tea fruit parfait.

The waitresses are dressed in these victorian-maid like uniforms... wonder if it's supposed to attract all the otakus?? Got a white frilly apron and black skirts. But no hair piece to complete the whole outfit.
