Gindaco Takoyaki is probably one of the more authentic Japanese takoyakis in Singapore - they only have one type of filling, which is the cooked octopus. Chopped preserved red ginger, spring onions are sprinkled over the batter, and when half cooked, the chefs will deftly use their 'picks' (for the lack of a better word) and turn these half spheres into round balls of takoyaki. They are then slathered with okonomiyaki sauce (brown salty sauce), bonito flakes (fish flakes) and mayonnaise. The takoyakis are slightly crispy and browned on the outside, and the insides are slightly runny, a bit like mashed potatoes. There is a good sized piece of octopus inside every takoyaki. Pretty good actually, just that I think they put too much okonomiyaki sauce over the takoyakis.
They also sell green tea, and have set meals for 1 or 2 persons. The choice of drink was either green tea, green tea with soy milk or green tea float (with ice cream). Naturally, I took the green tea float, which comes with a whirl of soft serve ice cream on top of the bitter green tea. The set of 6 takoyakis and drink costs $6. I think it's enough for 1 person, and there's a green tea float on top of that.

The queue was really long... past by the stall yesterday but didn't want to queue. But they look really yummy! Saw really big tako balls in Japan. So big that you can put it on top of a paper cup! No joke!
Hello miso! The takoyaki balls in Japan are huge - I've eaten one with octopus, sausage, mashed potato, crab stick and a whole lot of other ingredients:)The queue moves pretty quickly even though it's very long.
