We started off by pooling $20 each and we spent $18 at the end of the day.
Stop #1 of our food trail:
Beach Road Prawn Mee eating house - highly recommended by cel (who said that this prawn mee is worth eating a whole bowl and wasting stomach space). It's $4 a bowl (I think). I couldn't taste much cos there was chilli (only tasted chilli) but the prawn was very fresh and the onions oily and tasty.
The soup was very sweet and had a very strong prawn taste, but I think it must have had lots of salt inside, cos we were all very thirsty after eating this.
I think the prawn mee is quite good (by the taste of the soup) but for people who don't live in the east (like me) the equivalent is the Adam Road Prawn mee (which also comes in Lobster, Crab, Super Huge Prawn versions). It's quite a close fight but then for convenience, I'd go back to Adam road.
This is the fishcake from the rojak stall - it's crispy and deep fried and very unhealthily processed but nevertheless, very tasty.
